Lonely Kyoto Night
Rich Music Notes:
I’ve not been to Kyoto. So, sorry, any romantic notions
(about a lonely man in the night, starring out
of a window into the city lights from a penthouse, while rain streaks morph the
city into a dance, cracks of lightning followed by a gentle timpani of thunder,
and the clouds seem to become a screen for his past etc) remain in the realm of
imagination. The piece from 1999, features some Japanese-like instrumentation
that gives way to a set of violas which seem like voices speaking on a person’s
shoulder haha. At times they are in disagreement, and finally they decided to
harmonize to be heard. Hope you’d enjoy it:) -Rich
